Shari Aronson, Ph.D

Licensed Psychologist

 Shari (She/Her) is a licensed psychologist (CA license number pending) who is passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults—as well as their families—through therapy, consultation, and psychoeducational assessment. Shari especially enjoys working with individuals diagnosed with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning and neurodevelopmental differences, anxiety, depression, and OCD. She is also deeply committed to helping young people and families navigate the unique challenges that can arise in complex family systems. With her background in education and school psychology, Shari has particular expertise in working with families to navigate the school system, including support around Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and 504 plans.

Shari earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, where her research focused primarily on literacy promotion and stigma reduction related to ADHD. he gained clinical expertise during her doctoral training in schools, community agencies, and outpatient clinics. Shari joinedthe team at Practice SF following her postdoctoral fellowship at the CPMC Kalmanovitz Child Development Center, where she supported children and families through assessment, therapy, and consultation. Additionally, Shari developed and facilitated an empirically driven six-week psychoeducational workshop and support group for parents of children diagnosed with ADHD, helping families feel connected, empowered, and equipped with resources.

In her clinical work, Shari takes an integrative and relational approach, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), family therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and motivational interviewing. She values warmth and collaboration, and strives to create a space where children and parents feel seen, heard, understood, and supported.

Shari is originally from Arizona and has been living in the Bay Area for 7 years. She enjoys exploring San Francisco’s food scene, spending time with friends (and her puppy, Benny), practicing yoga and pilates, and listening to music.
