Jaclyn Psenka, PsyD

Psychological Associate

Jaclyn (she/her), is a Psychological Associate (CA License Pending) working under the supervision of Joe Tarantino, PhD (CA 33972). Jaclyn supports children, adolescents, adults, and their families through trauma, anxiety, depression, other mood-related disorders, learning and neurodevelopmental differences, and autism spectrum disorder. Jaclyn has clinical experience with a diverse range of clinical presentations within community mental health, private practice, outpatient, and inpatient settings. She has also developed skills in psychological assessment.

Jaclyn is committed to working within her clients’ systems to best treat the whole person and the networks that influence their experiences. She develops relationships with her clients and their families to foster trust and safety to explore identity, emotions, and life challenges while developing coping skills and actionable steps together.

Her approach is integrative, strengths-based, and relational, with cultural humility and trauma-informed techniques guiding a collaborative relationship that encourages meaningful change. Jaclyn integrates evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness-informed practices, motivational interviewing, relational therapy, and systems therapy.

She earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School (APA-accredited) in Chicago, Illinois. Jaclyn has extensively studied the impacts and treatment of trauma as well as community healing. Her dissertation explored how a community continuously navigates trauma after mass violence. She completed her internship at Regional Health Systems in Indiana, where she provided individual, group, and family therapy across the lifespan in a community mental health center.

Jaclyn is originally from the Chicagoland area and is excited to begin her journey in San Francisco. She looks forward to exploring the city with her dog Leon, getting crafty with friends, visiting with family, and meeting new faces along the way!

Jaclyn is seeing clients in San Francisco in our Cow Hollow and Potrero locations, and in Mill Valley!
